The objective of the Illinois Court Reporters Association is to assume responsibility for leadership and enlightenment of the users of verbatim shorthand reporting of proceedings and of the public regarding the special competency, importance and value of the shorthand reporting system. ILCRA works to encourage, establish and maintain high standards of professional education, competence and performance through the exchange of professional knowledge through discussion, study and publication.

A HUGE thank you from your new ILCRA Board to all of those members who attended the 2023 Annual Convention in Oak Brook!  A great time was had by all and we hope to see everyone next year in 2024!

2023 Court Reporting and Captioning Week

The 2023 Court Reporting & Captioning Week was a weeklong event that highlights the many aspects of court reporting and captioning that make it a viable profession, including good salaries, flexibility, interesting venues, and the increasing demand for more reporters and captioners to meet the growing number of employment opportunities available in the field. The event sends a message about the important and vital role human court reporters and captioners play in providing the most accurate mode of capturing the spoken word and turning it into text.
